** Join a Crossness Nature Reserve Winter Walk - with Save Crossness Nature Reserve campaigners **Saturday 25 January - 10.45am - 12.30am (approx) *

Meet at 10.45am outside Belvedere Station at the Dartford/Kent bound Platform 2 exit.
Look out for J D Swann with a large rolled up banner! (Location:
what3words.com/dads.words.cable ). We will walk to the Norman Road kissing gate entrance (Location: what3words.com/guises.relate.secure for 11am.
We will then walk across Norman Road Field to the reserve to unfurl the Save Crossness Nature Reserve banner. We will then walk the reserve, including to the protected area, normally only accessible to Friends of Crossness Nature Reserve members, and the two-storey bird hide.
The walk is oreganised by Save Crossness Nature Reserve and Friends of Crossness Nature Reserve, who oppose Cory Energy’s application to build a Carbon Capture plant on 11.7% of Crossness Nature Reserve.

Cory's scheme threatens waterways where Water Voles (Britain’s fastest declining mammal) live and where Britain’s rarest bee, the Shrill Carder Bee is found, it is also where passage migrant birds Wheatear, Stonechat and Whinchat are frequently seen.
This is a free event and all are welcome, whether actively involved with the campaign or not. Wrap up warm / dry for January weather. It could be muddy / wet especially across the Norman Road Field, so waterproof footwear is recommended.

Alan Johnson - Saving Nature in Kent and Essex
Alan is the Area manager for RSPB in Kent and Essex and his talk will be about his work and all that they are doing to work for Saving Nature in Kent and Essex.
No prior booking required. Venue is John Fisher Church Hall, 48 Thanet Road, Bexley DA5 1AP beginning at 7:45p.m. There is limited
free car parking at the hall and in Thanet Road. The public car
park next door now charges from 8am-midnight (£4 for 2-4
hours). Bexley train station is about five minutes walk away and
buses serving Bexley are 132, 229, 269, 492, 601, 669, and
B12. Doors usually open at 7.15pm.
As well as enjoying the illustrated talk you may purchase raffle tickets, buy bird food and book coach trips. We also maintain a small RSPB sales stall. The atmosphere is friendly and informal with an opportunity to exchange information and seek advice both before the talk and during the interval with tea and biscuits.

CRAYFORD MARSHES WALK, Sunday 5th January, with Sophie Chaise. FREE.1 mile or 3 mile route options.
Plenty of wildlife to see, plus an opportunity to have some drinks in the Erith Yacht Club bar (great views over the Thames) and participate in a free art session there at 3.30 if you're interested.
